I have a 99 Ford F150 Extended cab, factory openings are 5x7/6x8 openings in the doors. These Eclipse were recommended to me here on caraudio. The woofer part of the speaker I assume can be made to fit in the existing factory opening in the door, under the door panel, perhaps with some type of plate material. What about where to mount the other 2 smaller speakers? The door panels are contoured to meet the dash so on the drivers side, the dash comes out about 6 or 8 inches further then the passenger side. So to get them mounted in the same spot on both doors, I would have to have them almost in the middle of the door panels? And where would the crossover go? just inside the door someplace out of the way and run 1 wire into the door, or mount the crossover back with the amp and make 3 runs into each door? And are the midrange and tweeter surface mount or would I have to cut a hole in the door panel? It is hard to tell from the pictures Would I have to do some cutting.?.
