I assume that the box you ordered was for a round sub. If you have the space you could install you own baffle to fit the Kicker 8 inch L5 or L7. The mounting depth is right at 4.75 and would be 4.00 with the new baffle. I had a the 8 inch L5 and I was really impressed with the output, it got very low as well. The L5 handles 300 RMS and the L7 handles 450 rms.
those were my first option for my 8" enclosure, then i learned //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Hello guys. Just wanted to let you guys know that the Koda 8's mounting depth is 4". They also have a 12mm linear excursion, so it should do a lot better than most 8's out there, especially for the money.
I ordered the RE 8 today. It was $56.00 shipped. I did allot of homework and I've learned the JL 8W7 is supossed to be the 8" TOP DOG!! I thought about it, but it has a 6.3" mounting depth. I've heard allot of great things about the RE 8 so that is what I went with. The box I ordered is a single 8" custom box for my truck. It's a downfire box with .6 cubic foot airspace. I'm still not sure on the amp. Thanks for all the replies.
The RE rep is the one who told me the JL 8W7 was the BEST 8" sub on the market. I also heard that from 3-4 other vendors. If it wasn't true.... why would a REP from another company state it was the TOP DOG!!
There were two problems with the JL 8W7... first the mounting depth is 6.3 and the other is the $300.00 cost!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wowflash.gif.89a61f4caede63a11dac36e97d61323e.gif
I looked around and found it "NEW" for $240.00, but again it will not fit my box.
What does the e8a sell for? This is a silly question, but who makes the e8a? I'd like to look-up the mounting depth.
