The best 6x8's I used in my explorer were the crystal 6x8's. They were much better than the infinities and diamonds that I used.......although the infinities were a true component set and the crystals were just a really nice coax.

But, changing to a good set of 6.5's is worth while, even if you don't feel like building something, buy the real conversion kit.

A couple sets I have used and sound outstanding are the Boston Pro6s and the new pionerrs with the basalt cones. Can not think of their model # right now. Had both sets in my F250. They are both 6.5 with the little mounting plates to put em in 6x8 holes.
