Best 6.5" coax

I am looking to better my factory speakers. I am powering the front speakers with 35W RMS I am looking for a good sounding speaker that I can find anywhere. Rockford, Boston, Alpine, Infinity, polk, etc.

I really want to keep my speakers at $100/pr. or less. What do you think. There are some good deals on ebay for like 30 to 40 bucks and the same to ship. that's still under $100.

Opinions please............

well Im pretty happy with my infinity speakers that Ive got in my car, they might not be the cheapest of those but later if you do want to add more power then they have some pretty decent power handling compared to alot of other speakers Ive looked at...

I bought a set of Focal 130CA coax speakers for $100 on sale at woofersetc.com and they sound really good. I wanted the 6.5's but I couldn't pass up the price for the 5 1/4's.

try a pair of crystal ssx615... you can get a set for like 105 shipped and it is like a two way as the tweeter is mounted on a bridge over the woofer

i would say the new redesigned alpine type s coaxials. they now have a silk tweet and should work well with low power.

Type S are good. Nice bang for the buck.

focals are much better sounding then Alpine IMO. I'd go with maybe rockford or polk momo's at that price. Maybe some Kenwood's too, If you EQ them they don't sound that bad at all.

The type s coax's get pretty loud, but I think 165CA1 Focals or BOSTON ACOUSTICS SL65's would be the better choice. Musically they both sound very good.

I just listened to them: The Boston SX65. You can get them on ebay for just under 100 bucks, and they are the best coaxil's i've heard. they outperformed even the SL components (not joking). They have great mids, and are excellent bang for your buck!

Dont mean to hi-jack, but Im looking for the same thing, except my budget is $150. A nice, clean sounding 6.5" coax speaker, and power hadeling around 50-100 RMS. I was thinking about the RE components, but the prices are goin higher, and I don't know if I really dig the tweeters. I have a stupid dual cone speaker for fronts right now, and they give just the right amount of treble for me. Looking for somethin better tho. I just want opinions on wut seems to be the best.
