best 1500 rms@1ohm under $400

I would have to go with an ED 9.1 for 350, much less if you do a package or forum price. They will do an honest 1400-1800 at 1 ohm. There are others out there but the EDs are solid and have a three year warranty.

I'd rather get a used amp. When amps break, they usually do it pretty quickly, non-moving parts don't tend to wear out like moving parts would. You know a used amp is at least past its inititial "turn it on and smoke comes out" period. As long as you get it from someone who you think take care of their stuff, only buy from reputable people. I'd rather have a used high quality amp than a new decent one. My next setup is using used xxk amps, too expensive new, but known to be bulletproof.

Every time I put in a new amp or HU I go easy on it.I'm usually pretty afraid to beat on things day one, brand new.I hate that feeling, when you're reading to turn the system on and you don't know what'll happen, will it blow a fuse, go into protect, puff out smoke or work perfectly.Then when you turn it on and it works great, a sigh of relief comes lol.
