Best 15 for 3.5 cubes

my bad did you mean 350-400 for both subs or for each. As far as 2 15's or 4 10's for sq purposes plus it has more cone area i would go with the 4 10's they will be more precise and accurate but they will not be able to drop as low as 15's. And most of the 15's mentioned have good sq, except the MTX it is not the greatest. But it depends on the install.

i dont know which you were saying has more cone area, but the 2 15s have more than 4 10's. 2 15s would be my choice no matter what. they're are some amazing subs on here for that price range... just look around.

I really only wanna spend about 300-400 on the subs total.

I have now the maximum dimensions for the ext. cab.

What I did was I got the seat comfortable. I am 6'4" so I gotta have the seat all the way back. I also am not going over the back window. Then I took the following measurements:

Height: 25 3/4"

Top depth: 10 1/2"

Bottom depth: 20 1/2"

Width: 47 3/4"

Not sure the baffle's what the baffle's exact height would be.

I have already cut the back board and one side board just messing around and now im trying to tweak the amount of space that I can use.

Would it be ok to run this much of a slope in a ported box?

It seams like everytime I see a ported box, it is square. I dont see how it would hurt.

If at all possible, after looking at price/performance I almost have my heart set on 4 type-r 12s or 2 type-r 15s. How would these fit into my dimensions? Is it big enough for 4 type-r 12s ported?

Better believe that I am one of those guys who likes to get his stuff figured out before I go off and put hours of work into something and get dissappointed.

2 15's would be my choice too. I have 4 15's in my durango. But he said he wanted SQ and has 400 to spend. Most 15's in that price range do not have the best SQ. There are exceptions but not that many in that price range.

For the size of the box, will 4 type-r 12s or 2 type-r 15s be more efficient?

Personally, I think I am leaning toward the 12s.

Unless you know of a better new 12" sub for the price of 125 shipped all day long.

4 12 sidewinder 12's with 1000rms each = 154 db's.

But that was in a geo. Can't say how loud you would get, but if you things correctly you should get very loud going that route.

How much of a slant though? the only problems with a slant are if the enclosure is ported out of the slanted side, then the port has to be slanted on the inside as well. Other than that, a slant is fine. I say just go for something practical as far as the subs are. Check out ficaraudio.com, and see if anything there suits your needs. a few nice deals can be had on the bay, if you look for listings that arent properly filled out, and things like that. Good luck with this search, and remember, use lots of bracing in a box this big, you will need it.

Thanks guys. I was really worried about that slant. I wanna use as much space as I can, but was worried that it would be a problem. I might wanna start a new thread in the enclosure design section or whatever it is.

Sidewinders would not be bad either. And as pimp said ficaraudio.com has some nice looking products for a very nice price. How they perform i do not know but they look like good subs. I would probably try them over the R and sidewinder.

WOW! I just checked out FICARAUDIO.COM and I am quite supprised that more people havent jumped on them. Seems like very professional company. Those subs look good, but I am still trying to find a set of 4 12's that will compare to the Type-Rs for under 500 shipped. Those that i would think compare to the Rs are like 189 shipped each. Thats 756 Shipped. Not in my budget.

Kickass products though.

Well i have heard good things about the sidewinders but the R's have been very effective in more than one setup so i would probably go with the R's. They have been tried and tested plenty of times in many different installs and they have always performed well. Build a good enclosure and they will pound. How much power you putting on each sub?
