i`m looking for a pair of subs that would work well in a smaller vented enclosure. I have a two 12 enclosure that is 1.85 gross per side and tuned to 32 hz per side. each side is sealed away from the other. a solid built enclosure that is doubled baffled with two 3/4 in mdf.

right now i have a pair of infinity kappa perfects that sound decent ...but not great....they seem to need a little more air to be perfect. Also i have some sealed boxes that i favor with the perfects.

WHAT ARE SOME DECENT 12 SUBS...LESS THAN 200 BUCKS esh each... that would sound nice in 1.85 gross @ 32 hz? i have several amps i could use....rf bd 1000.1 punch 360 punch 500 jl slash 500 ppi 300 art ppi 450 pc among my better amps.....of course the 1000.1 is hooked up now. on the repair bench i have a rf 800@ 2 and a db drive 1000 platnuim . i`m` a bit of an amp and sub horder with about 14-15 subs/enclosures in my collection......but i must find 2 more 12`s!!!

I`ve heard that dayton 12 ho would be a good choice......

most of my 12 vented boxes are 2.0 to 3.0 i guess in my world 1.85 is kinda small....medium might be more accurate....anyhow......looking for 2 12 s that would sound nice in them

kappas sound fine in this enclosure....just wanting to use them in sealed.....and wanting some 12 s that would sound really nice in the 1.85 32 hz.....anyone have options on dayton 12 ho or PG subs?

really leaning towards some dayton ho s .i`ve read to many good reviews on them.i`m more into sq than spl....however sometimes i like to see just how loud i can get. i`ve notice my spl moments occur mostly during full moons. for spl i hook up my kicker cvx s in a large vented enclosure and drop the bass knob

1.85 gross is small for a 12". You're not going to fit a pair of 12's, so get that out of your head. Small box subs:

TC Epic

Dayton HO

DC Level 2 and 3

Sundown Zv3 (not sure about the SD or E series, those might be too)

There are probably others, but that box is pretty small.

sorry its 1.85 per side.....so 3.7 total
stop using gross, thats the useless number. NET cubic is what you want, its the usuable airspace the sub has, thats after subtracting how much space the sub takes up along with the port. Did anyone not catch this before recommending woofers?

That turns out to be a pretty small box man, i'd go with a dayton HO or a type R in that box.

When you say your Perfects sound "decent not great" what exactly would you like to change to make the bass perfect? Sometimes a slight change with a parametric EQ, or a different LPF frequency or slope, or even something different with your speakers can bring it up to where you want it to be. Assuming the enclosure isn't a piece of junk that flexes, you already have an enclosure that is very close to what Infinity recommends in a ported application.
