Best 1000W Amp.

efficiency matters nill when you're dealing with an amp that is fully regulated between 10.5 and 16 volts...

You'd shit if I told you the current draw of the 1000/1 at 1.5 ohm.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif doesn't affect output one bit in this design.. (will tear the alt a new *** though)

I have a few problems with this...

1. JBL and DEI amps are both class D monoblocks and are not regulated.

2. JL's is a regulated, multi railed a/b hybrid for all the multi channels, and for the class D's there is no test of the 1000/1 around that I am aware of and the 500/1 has the benefit of being regulated, which something the others do not feature. This comes at a cost, which is typically efficiency. This is the case.

If one want's to base efficiency alone as the selling factor, you may as well go with something else.. but name another amp that can go from 14.4v ~ 10v, from 4 ohms ~ 2 ohms, and STILL maintain every ounce of power that it is rated for... JL did well on their design, and deserves some credit for it...

When I said "cost be d*mned" for a 1,000w amp I came up with the Precision Power PCX1500, lots of toys to play with, take that for what its worth I guess. Phoenix Gold was my next choice.

Is everyone forgettin 'bout the Xtant X1001! This amp is amazing. Besides being rated at 1000 W rms of ultra clean power @ 2 ohms, it has an array of plug-in accessories which further enhance the amp's usability. You can read about this yourself @ xtant.com though, so I won't bother. When we bench tested it, the specs on our particular amp came out a lot better than the factory specs. We had three of them in a Lexo suv powerin' 4 12' DVC Eclipse aluminum's and they sounded beautiful. Extremely little distortion considering they are metal cones. Anyway, thats my two cents.

really?! wow, that seems strange:confused: . Obviously that shouldn't be happening. I could talk to my friend who is an authorized Xtant dealer and see if he could find out any troubleshootin' info to help ya out. Is that model last year's or this year's "titanium" series?
