i put two l7's in a 2 cuft each sounds like *** dont do it unless u listen to purly rock and higher bass notes then it hurts just listening to that shit
The only disadvantage is when you go way over the ideal size. Then the speaker begins to behave as though it isn't in an enclosure at all aka infinite baffle. If the speaker isn't made to handle this, then it'll probably bottom out and reach its mechanical limits quite quickly.

The round solobarics had problems with mechanical power handling in the correct size sealed box. The coil could thermally handle way more than the sub could mechanically handle.
