bench pressing

meat, chiken, ribs, eggs. but remember you need alot of carbs also to gain weight and to replenish lost energy due to working out. theres a ton of tips on working out, id suggest going to barnes and noble and reading one for free. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

who cares... i usually go about 6 inches from my chest. i work at my schools gym and i see all kinds of dumb shit. it keeps me entertained at work.
I know what you mean. I see people that basically load up on weight let the barbell drop to their chest bounce off their chest and push it up as fast as possible. Then I think to myself has anyone cracked their ribs doing this? They must have a fat bruise the next day. Then you have the extreme opposite. You see another guy that loads way up on weight and takes the barbell off the rack brings it down about 2 inches and goes back up NO Joke!!!! Then you have the people that do curles and throw their whole body into the curl and curl it as fast as possible so they can rep it out using momentum rather than muscle.

yeah probably the worst thing i see is guys who use the bench press barbell and curl like 115 but almost fall over from doing it. so many people are just taking any kind of supplement these days... i think 90% of it is bs anyway.

I haven't maxed out in years. I maxed at 220 about 4 years ago, but I only weighed 140. Now I am up to 168 and have no idea what I can do now. I am too lazy now days. It would be around 150 :thumbsdow

Pfft ... max bench ... doesn't mean jack //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
315lbs. Never do it again though ... just a stupid thing to do ... so don't do it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I also maxed at 315 as a senior in HS weighing 190. Then decided it wasn't worth a torn rotator cuff so I've never benched since.

I work at Bally Total Fitness so I see people working out incorrectly every day.

I take Whey Protein, Creatine, and Glutamine. But I always make sure I'm not taking too much creatine b/c of the supposedly bad effects too much can have on your body.

Keep in mind that creatine is an essential amino acid already created in your body just in very small amounts.

Well yeah i probs could but i lift in my garage so its easier to just work out in the mornings and at night than waiting around for someone and i can just go out whenever i feel like it

a spotter definitely helps dude...not just safety-wise but with the whole process

cause they're the ones that make you do that last rep even though you know you ain't got it

I only go down so far so that the angle my chest makes with my biceps are alittle about 200 degrees

been lifting since I was in 7th grade (graduated hs in june '03), no problems. my whole family's short; I'm actually taller (by less than an inch) than my brother who's a year older than me

So true! I think it's the whole motivation thing that makes them a good asset to your workout because they kinda keep you motivated to keep going when you normally would tell yourself you can't.
