bench pressing

i dont see i how whey protein is bad. i think someone said it was bad for u???? look on the back of the box it gives u 20 grams of protein which is %40 of ur daily nutrition. how can that be harmful. whey protein is what ur body needs. there are more than 1 type of protein and whey protein has every one of them......

okay, maybe whey protein; but creatine, nope. I thought the rule of thumb was a gram of protein per body pound a day
well %100 is 60 grams and thats prolly about how many i get a day buts that way less than my body weight

yeah i think its like 2g are found in every pound of meat. do you think taking a glutamine supplement is worth it?
I think it's definitely worth it. If you've never taken it, you'll really notice a difference in how sore you are the next day. It makes your muscles recover faster after your workout so you can train as hard the next day.

Plus you can get it really cheap.

Glutamine is DEFINITELY something that should be included in your supplements. Glutamine increases growth hormone secretion, reduces muscle soreness, speeds recovery, assists your body in times of stress, stimulates protein synthesis, volumes muscles, provides immune system support, and helps support numerous internal organs.

I mix a scoop of glutamine with whey immediately post workout.

how much is in a scoop? my protein has 2.6 grams per serving in it already.

The key to protien supplementation is to take it more often rather than big servings. A persons body only stores enough amino acids for something like 3 hours of of normal chemical reactions happening in their body all the time. After that runs out they start to break down muscle to get the needed amino acids. Bodybuilders recommend 6 small meals a day for that reason, so you have a constant intake of protien so their body doesn't need to catabolize. I haven't read this whole thread but anyway, I'm 6'1" 170lbs my max bench is 255. I also was in a bench press competition where people had to lift their own weight for reps, I got 170lbs up 19 times. Of course I lost horribly to a guy who was like 5', 150lbs and got over 40 reps.
