Sold Beefing up an amp?

You could fill the inside of it with a non-conductive semi-liquid high-conductance compound to help with heat dissipation. Bigger heatsinks, larger wires where applicable, etc. The truth is, it's not worth the effort unless you're making one of those super amps that are 1/16 ohm stable and can push 9.6kw.

But Ill tell you what, My Avionixx gets hotter than the sun, honest. I went and bought an analog temperature guage and it runs about 120-125 degress daily...thats pretty warm...Try getting in a hottub at 107 degress...I couldnt imagine 120-125. The thing should melt....

This is gonna sound crazy but...

Heres an idea for an insane cooling system.

Build a tank to house the amp, fill it with cooking oil, throw the amp in.

Cooking oil does not conduct electricity so the amp can be completely immersed and not short out, the cooking oil will wick away the heat and release it on all sides of the container.

Some people have actually done this with the motherboards of their PC's to keep the processor cool.

The tricky part is the nospill tank design and making amp adjustments after everythings installed(messy).

I would love to see it done, I bet it would get high points for install creativity at comps.

Heres a pic of a PC mother board immersed in mineral oil

I have heard of that before.....but what do you think about the liquid cooling systems for comps that attach to the processor and coolit in a continuious (whatever) cycle?

Just like a cars raditator..

well...about the comp cooling with the crisco.....You would have to isolate the motherboard fro the rest of the hardware correct? Because I just cant imagine that...but I as well would like to see some pics...

Is there some type of circuitry work that I can have someone do to make this possible? Becuase I really dont want to have to buy a 20.1, because I know that they can do it....

The moving parts like the hard drive and the cd drives cannot be immersed for obvious reasons.
