Beauty Rings on my subs...

on your type-r's?.... why are they falling out? wash them with soap and water in the sink, and dry them off. they should pop back in and stay. did you use something to shine them up?

yea, on the type r's. the beauty rings just don't stay in well. I haven't used anything on them at all. but when the subs hit, the beauty rings pop out and vibrate...

Also, where I remounted them, there's holes that air escapes from, so when the beauty rings are in correctly, the air doesn't escape. when they pop out, you can tell air is escaping because of the sound...

Sounds like your sub cutouts are too big for your subs.

there is the problem. air should not come through the holes. the beauty ring is just that. there for looks. at full power, the rings do not budge. however, if you are trying to use them to seal, they won't. seal the box opening. if it's not carpeted, use foam tape

Sounds like you need a better made box....without rings.

the type r rings just slide in the groove beween the basket and surround, looks better with them in.

The mount cut outs are a bit too big, so basically i need to seal that and the beauty rings themselves aren't the issue? Gotchya... Use foam tape?

If ya have the room, make an overlay baffle with the right size cutout, and mount it to the existing baffle.

Basically means take the panel (baffle) that your subs are mounted to, make another panel but with the cutouts a little smaller and attach it to the current front panel.

If your subs are mounted to the front of your box, get another piece of MDF that same size, but make the cutouts a little bit smaller and then glue this new baffle to your box.

Just put the new baffle on....take ya an hour, and cost ya $25.
