Read a few posts about the no-go on a recone. Says it uses a "non-standard O.D" (Outer Diameter?). Not terribly concerned about that, though. I'm probably never going to give it anywhere near it's rated. However, I'm not well versed in thiele-small speak... What's the high Q mean? I just want "good enough" sq, as loud as I can get it.

High q typically lends itself better to sealed. I've never seen a woofer with high Q like that model well in any realistic size/tuned ported box. Really if Fs was a little lower on that woofer I'd say it's probably the sort of thing that would do well in infinite baffle. (high Q and stiff suspension)

OK, looks like the 1535 is the one that was good. It does seem iffy on the 33 series.

Alternate option exchange for something that's a good deal like power cable, RCA's, a head unit, etc, and trade that towards a good sub from someone here. Or say find someone with a sub that's willing to take stuff they sell at that store in "trade".

Really I think coil could be found, but I think you may be right to be wary of that model.

I had the same thought a couple of hours ago while at work, lol... I think it'll be for about 125 worth of credit at VMI. The sub was about 140, but I got a discount because they had a pic of the BF15 in it's place. I knew what I was really getting, but they still pissed me off putting a pic of that monster-azzed 4" coil sub in place of the BE, lol.
