yeah ive bein hearing that hd4000's are only burp amps(used in competitions but will put 4000 rms of clean power) they will get hot on music depending how hard you push them, but they dont get hot that easy neither..Can't really tell looking at the pics. I'm sure it can but for how long is the question. Less part can mean more heat on the parts you do have. I sure someone either their or at AR can do some clamp testing on it, if it's easy to get to.
your runnin them @ 2 ohms? lol that might be the problem if your runnin them @ 2ohms + impendance rise you will not be getting much power out of the amp, but who knowsmy deck has a setting where it will lock the volume at half its full volume, then has a gain setting to raise its rca voltage with a "volume adjust". so you drop the total volume of the unit then set volume adjust to +12 (max) and i get a clean signal to subs with subvolume from -6 all the way to +5 then after +5 i clip on the deck's rca's. So with no clipping on the rca's of the deck what so ever. And the amp turned all the way down, i have to lower my headunit voltage (from the rca's) by lowering the sub level to 0. At 0 with the amp gain all the way down its clean, +1 sub level (clean on the deck) is clean +2 is a weird start of a hard clip...it square waves on corner of the wave, +3 is a decent looking wave but its FUZZY!?? its weird, its a full wave its just fuzzy:wow: like its out of focus???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
Im doing this without subwoofers hooked up so that could possibly be my prolem. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
maybe these amps dont put out clean power at 2 ohm? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
