its quite straight forward man, but if you don't have the tools i guess it'd be difficult. if you don't mind a little drive, stereo town in fremont does good work.

thnx for the help guys i will attempt it myself if someone can tell me which wiring kit i need and if i need a high and low converter.. i currently have two hfi12d4 and ported box with a hifonics bx1000D amp nd stock car head unit

Budget on amp kit??? Using stock radio?

yea id like to keep the amp kit reasonable like under $75 nd i would like to keep the stock head unit for now

for that amp this would be good for you

4 gauge amplifier installation kit

and in order to install with a stock headunit, grab a line output converter and tap your speakers for a signal. then run RCA's from the converter to your amp's inputs.

I could help you out if you really want someone to go over it with you.

One thing to keep in mind when selecting your wiring kit is future upgrading. If you plan on upgrading your amplifier, or adding a second for speakers, or both, choosing a 0 AWG wiring kit will prevent you from having to redo the wiring later. The 4AWG wiring kit that jungstah linked you is perfect for this amp, but if you add another amp (~1000w+ total), you will want 0awg.

There are many cheaper options, but this is the problem: A cheap line out converter is a huge bottleneck. The signal coming from your headunit goes immediately to the LOC, and if that is cheap and degrades sound quality, everything else is going to suffer. I haven't used one of these LOC's, but if you are planning on keeping the stock radio this is your best bet.

as dumb as it sounds man but im completly clueless when it comes to all this.. this is my first time attempting a system

also i have a used pioneer deh-p3900mp lying around but idk if tht would b better thn my stock

Can't say for certain, but I would guess the pioneer unit will be better than what Scion uses as a standard feature. It has 3 sets of preamp outputs... that alone might make it better than the stock radio, because you won't have to worry about adding a LOC

well can u tell me how id go about installing that head unit to my car and thn how to wire my amp nd subs to it?

you would find a wiring harness for your tc and snap it into the existing harness coming from the car. that harness will convert the wires from toyota's color codes to the standard colors such as green, white, violet, yellow for power, black ground, etc...

then you would match the colored wires of the headunit with the harness and solder or crimp them together. slap on the dash trim ring etc and your headunit should be done.

for the sub/amp--

run RCA's from the wiring kit from the sub outputs on the headunit to the trunk.

tap blue remote wire onto the blue lead out of the headunit and that will be your amp turn-on wire, run it to trunk.

attach terminal onto the power wire and connect it to the + of your battery and run to trunk.

attach terminal on ground wire and attach to chassis for ground.

connect all of the above wires on to amp!

hook subs up according to impedance and connect to amp. and you're done..i think

correct me if im wrong, but that should be the gist of it
