I've decided I just want one 18" sub for my car below I've listed narrowed it down to these two:

one kicker comp vr 18"

one adire maelstrom 18

which one sounds better for sq and spl......... also I can get the Kicker comp about 100 bucks cheaper...... can someone also tell me how many watts the maelstrom can handle it says 550 rms on visonary audio but I figure the sub can handle more than that. On the other hand the kicker comp 18 has 1000 watt rms does this make the kicker one more powerful and thus better? anyone care to give me some insight....thanks!

rereading the information........ made me more ****ing confused! for the maelstrom it says pmax 550 to each voice coil..... so im assuming its a dual voice coil speaker so it would be 1100 watts rms i would be needing to put in to it.... which in theory makes the maelstrom better than the kicker comp 18 and the tempest....... but i need some more opinions thanks

dont got the doe for the 18 xxx

btw, reading the review off visonary, "with a 500w tickle the mael belted out over 148db with the seats leaned back in sit position. For those of you that don't know what that means.......it means it got sick loud on little power and stuff in its way! "

i like the price of the maelstrom and the power, probably going to go with it.... i'd probably have to get a sealed box though right?

I'm a try the XXX 18
