Battery Wire Question

I have a 100ah and 80ah batteries, I have a 200amp alt also. I want to run both batteries under the hood and run 3 runs of 1/0 to the trunk. I was wandering if this would be sufficient?

Would be for just about anything I can think of unless your planning on running something ungodly

We need to know the load on the system to know what battery and alt combination may work... What are you running? One run of 1/0 can be good for 250A. Competition? Daily driver? Amps? Load on amps?

Me? I'd run 3 runs positive 3 runs negative, need that voltage to drop as little as possible.

Especially when competing.

Buck, will it matter if its from the body of the car or does it need to be from the battery?

you get the maximum amount of current draw possible by running direct wires. running through the chassis introduces a bunch of crap you probably don't want. just as long as your amp is using a short ground to the battery(s), you'll be fine.

Battery is gonna be under the hood, that is gonna be a long ground to the amp. Not sure if that is what your saying or not. I am just trying to get as less voltage drop as possible while having both of my batteries under the hood.
