Battery Question

so after almost getting stuck deep in the marsh we have decided to upgrade the batteries on our little boat. For our trolling motor batteries we have two deep cycles wired to 24v but they just dont last anymore. My dad mentioned getting gel cells to replace them with but I'm curious about using two car audio batteries and if it would be worth getting them for the extra usage time. If so which batteries would be best?

what do you mean by car audio batteries? i was gonna run some dekas in my boat and i tried it once and it worked great, but i think any big deep cycle or gel cell, would probably get the job done, and what kinda 24V trolling motor do you have?

any AGM battery would work good

Kinetik has some marine batteries a couple KM 27's or KM31's would work. I have used 2 2400's to run a 24 volt fork lift and they did a better job than what was in there before.

its a minn kota bow mount...cant think of the thrust right now. What I mean by car audio batteries is a battery that is used for car audio purposes such as dekas, stingers, kinetiks, etc...yea deep cycles work but we're wanting something that will hold up better and maybe produce a longer running time.

didnt know kinetik made marine batteries...Ill look into them and hope they dont cost an arm and a leg. I thought about two 2400s but thats a hefty 150lbs...

so would I be looking at a battery with a higher ah rating than a gel cell or deep cycle? or would I be looking at something else?

look for some big AGM batteries!

The only difference in regular and 'marine' batteries is marine batteries have stainless steel terminals
