battery, power cap, 4 ga wire ?

I have a couple questions going into my next build. I am planning what I will need so I can start building my amp racks console and box. I have 4 ga power and ground wire right now. If I run 3 amps is there anything wrong with running 2 power wires from the battery? I was going to do this instead of buying 0ga. Next question if I get another battery for the back do I have to run a power cap? Or if I get a large enough cap can I get away with not needing another battery. The setup I have in mind will be 4 12's, 2 sets of components and a pair of 6 1/2's and 6x9's running off the head unit.

Well I am waiting on a new line to drop from jbl so the exact specs aren't known but my sub amps will be around 2400 watts and the component will be around 1000 watts so a total of 5800 watts.

if you read in this same section is where ecrack.net just posted a nice explanation of caps. just run 0 gauge instead of tryin to get around it.
Not trying to get around running 0 gauge just asking if i will achieve the same affect with 2 4ga power lines as one 0 ga power line.

You cannot run those amps on 4 gauge, period. 2 runs of 4 gauge for 6kw is laughable. If your amps will truly produce that amount of power you better have a stout electrical system.

Yeah IDK where to begin here. 2 4gauge runs will carry almost as much current as a 1/0 to answer your question.
So you are saying I would be safe running one 4ga power wire for my component amp and then another 4ga to my sub amps.

Unless they have a built in flux capacitor, there's no way in hell a 2400w amp would draw less than 150A //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Yeah IDK where this guy is getting his numbers from....so I just answered the question the best I could lulz

heres the standard CA.COM response....if you have a 5800 watt system and you are asking these kinds of questions you are prob going to end in fail. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Pretty much

Not positive yet on the wattage I was just guessing off of what they have out right now. I have no problem running 0ga just was asking a question. Thanks for the help guys. I dont want to end in failure which is why I am asking these questions to make sure I dont screw anything up.
