Battery light turned on..

I was riding with my system going and my battery lite on my gauge cluster came on.. what should i do??

1.) Buy a optima (yellow top)

2.) Just buy a interstate and toss it in the trunk

i need some advice.. any help would be great!

I say buy a Yellow Top and through it in your trunk, use the current battery for other electical.

I was going to suggest Kinetik but wasn't sure if you wanted to spend that much.

hate to tell you buddy, but if the battery light came on the guages, then your altenator is gone. Watch when you go to start the car and the battery is dead cause the car will be running off the battery till it dies. Yea, the battery was drained by the amp because the alternator was being stressed so bad that it could not keep up. I have a thread about my car being broken into. My battery light came on, and my car didnt want to accelerate. My alternator was dead, and it ended up that I had ran my car on the battery alone until it was completely dead. I left my car where it died at overnight, came back and everything I had was gone. If i were you i would double check that your alternator is 100%. Just putting in another battery will do you nothing if you dont have the PROPER electrical to keep it charged.

Heres the question.. on kinetikpower.com the wiring diagram says that i sould run a ground wire to the trunk also for the extra battery.. is that necessary? Can't i just ground it to the chassis of the car? Or would that be a bad thing?

what would i know, i have a family of mechanics. Call the dealer and ask them what it means when your battery light comes on. Heres how to test the altenator. While the car is running disconnect the positive terminal from the battery, if the car turns off, you need a alt.

edit: most say to run a ground from the front battery to the back battery but i have had success just grounding to the frame in the back as well as my friends. For best results run the ground from one batt to the other though.
