Battery Cutoff switch would it help?

yes

when you hook up 2 batterys they will equalize with eachother

wich will try and top off the battery with less voltage - and drain off some power from the battery that is stronger.

that is the only reason why I need to use a cut off switch between my kenetic and optima

well i will have to check my batteries voltage first, also if you just disconnected the rear batteries negative would that prevent the battery from being drained or does it have to be the positive wire? thanks

A 12v batt is a 12v batt. It's not gonna hurt either battery without an iso or cutoff. They will only level eachother off, and IFfor some reason the front batt dies...the rear batt will still be able to start the vehicle with no problems and the alt will charge the dead back to working condictions.

If it's a 16v batt, then you have problems.

oh so a rear battery could still start the truck? i didnt know that? also im not sure what volt the battery is but i think it is a 12v, ill have to look tommoro? what happens if it is a 16volt? it would drain pretty good?
