battery connections

what connects to your battery before you start adding audio compnents, such as amps and stuff.....i have one wire going to my alt and then another wire going somewhere else....does anyone know what its connected to?

That would go to the chassis, to ground the entire car's electrical system.

Positive terminal also goes to the fuse box to power everything else in your car.
