I have 2200watt hifonics

Powering 2 400watt Rockfords & 2 ?watt Earthquakes

I also have a 400watt MTX Thunder powering

Pioneer speakers in the car.

Was wondering any recommendations on a Capacitor?

Under 100$ (if i even need one, which i think i do).

Thanks

FYI there is a sticky on how to do the big 3. It shouldn't cost anymore than $35 and depending on your vehicle, 15 minutes to an hour of your time. If you want a second battery talk to bad4health once he is unbanned about buying a deka (He wasn't banned due to scamming, just a personal thing with the mods..)

I know I have to do the Big 3... wasn't planning on it, don't have much time to do it. Plus I think we're getting rid of the car soon anyways.

It's a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, It would take longer than 15mins, I've seen where the wires run.

It has a new battery, a newer (not powerful) alt.

A second battery is worth it in the trunk? Than a Cap? Wouldn't it be the same thing?

I've had the Rockfords for 5 yrs now, I got handed Earthquakes (in the future it will be in my truck when i fix it).

Along with my other hifonics amp and the big 3, But that's a whole nother project.

Well alright then... That's the kind of article i was looking for. I like to learn "WHY". And that just gave me the full out answer.

Thank You Sir.

Which brings me to my next question....

I'll do the big 3, Whats the best/good wire to use? Cheapest to get it online?

pure cooper welding cable.

I rather do 4 AWG. If someone can share what brand would be good / good place to get it.

Everyone says 0 guage... but under 8ft, 4 gauge is just fine under the hood.

0 gauge will just give you more room to breathe in the future. But do just make sure it's pure OFC. You'll need 6 ring terminals. and some zip ties to keep the wire snug where you rout it. Also, keep in mind when you get of the car, you can pull the Big 3 out as well and put it in your truck.

I found my wiring used on here, works great, got a good deal. Something like $30 for 10ft of OFC Stinger with ring terms and a fat fuse and fuse holders. If you don't wanna wait for shipping, you might wanna check some local audio shops, they might sell 4g by the foot if that's what you insist upon doing it in.

I'm in no rush... rather buy online, its cheaper. I'm okay with 4 gauge. No need for zero. Yeah, I have the rings and zipties already. Just need to get the wire. And to know what wire is good to buy.
