Basslink Install Questions

Check it,

I've got a 4 channel amp driving my 2 fronts\components and my 2 6x9 rears.

Having that said, will this create any problems installing the self powered Basslink sub? If i'm not mistaken I should be able to hook up rca's from the sub into my HU and keep the amp driving my 4 other speakers. It's a little weird because the install directions say I can hook all other speakers directly into the basslink?

I'm a little bit of a newb here and any help or recomendations would be awesome.

-Thanks

If you have 3 sets of preouts coming from your HU you should be able to hook a set of RCA's directly to your Basslink.

I assume you have a set of RCA's from your HU to the front of the amp and a set to the rear of the amp? If you have 3 sets of RCA's you should have another set labeled "sub" or something to that effect.

it sounds like you have 3 sets of rca preouts. one should be for subwoofer only, that one would go to the bass link. if you only have 2 sets of preouts, you would be using the front ones to power all 4 of your mids, which is ok, and you would be using the rear set to power your bass link. but if you have the 500 dollar model, i believe you have 3 sets, with an independant subwoofer output that has its own volume and crossover settings. that is a pretty sweet headunit.
