Well am in the middle of doing my first ever install. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I got a magnat sub and it came already in a box, If I build my own box which i wanna make the shape of my trunk so the sub is more confined will it lower the quality of my sub?

also I have what I assume is an air flow tube of some kind (Newbie here!) on the side of my current box I presume this adds the same kind of effect as blowing over the top of a bottle, so in my new install should U leave this out because the only place for i would be on the same side as the sub not the side of it. Tho think It might look pretty cool.

Thanks for your reply mate, think on saterday ile give it a go and build my own shelf, now got 2 subs.

They are both Magnat Bull Power Reflex subs 12" 440w.

Heres a link to the manufacturers page for the sub... http://www.magnat.de/car/car.php?serie=Bull_power&detail=111340&area=2&lang=en

Can you give me any more infomation on the port? On the box I have now just looks like like a hole with a silver bit of plastic over it. Was just going to wack that in the new box I was building heh.

Thanks for your help mate but I gave up hehe went a braught 2 sony 12" subs 1200w each some 240w 6x9's 180w 6" and a 300w amp and a double ready made box hehe.

Yeh I know am a lazy f**ker. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif hidden all the wires tho will put up some picks when am done, having trouble hiding the wires for the 6x9's tho any advice on that?

Hiding the wires to the 6x9's? 6x9's? **** Europeans... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'll hide them for you... I'd eliminate them!

That'll hide them nicely... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You don't need to worry about total volume... I can get a front stage install into your car that would make your ears bleed... for the same budget or less as your front + rear speakers... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Part of the budget spent on a nice set of front stage speakers.. the rest of the budget on really preparing your doors to be baffles... or maybe on a nice set of kicks for them (don't worry, I'll keep it nice so you can still work the clutch).

Anyway.. trading out Magnat subs for Sony subs? Oh no!

Most likely a big step down in quality, we don't get it here, but I thought Magnat was supposed to be some decent stuff. Sony... used to be decent stuff. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

What's the Qts on the Sony subs?

With some luck, they'll have a nice, high Qts, and you won't have to worry about anything but building a nice sealed enclosure for them.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
