Basic Subwoofers

I am pretty new to the car audio world. I want some extra boom for my car. Nothing crazy that will blow out my ear drums and everyone in a 200 foot radius of my car. I have a large cargo area for my car, so space isn't much a problem. But umm, I don't want to go over like 300 dollars for an enclosure amp and subs. I wont mind going a little bit over. So just give me some suggestions, and maybe a link to where I can get the stuff. Thanks.

If you and your brother can build a box, then you are set. That is so important, and many of the prefab ported boxes are expensive and tuned very high for output, but sound crappy.

check out http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com for subwoofers (mach 5) and http://www.sonicelectronix.com has some pretty cheap prices all around. elemental designs has some very cheap 12"s for sale i think the are like $14 so get two or three of those and a nice amp on them and there is another option.
