Basic knowledge

A buddy of mine gave me two 12 in subs enclosed not too long ago, and knowing nothing of them i need help with finding where the best plce to look in learning more knowledge. What we he gave me was a 12 in kicker 4ohm and a 12 in fosgate but dont know the ohms. I bought an amp and currently have one sub connected to it. I had both but every time i do so my amp overheats and shuts off no more than 5 minutes later. Any information on what i should do there would be awesome too. Thanks in advance.

Well im not a pro at this but since people read this **** and have nothing to say il help. Start by Check your amp specs, and both speaker specs. Come back on here or just do research after u figure it out. Like i said before people expect advice when they ask questions but there's threads with over 100 views and no response

If you pull the speaker out of the box it should have the product number somewhere on the back. You just google the the part number and you should be able to find a cut sheet somewhere on the interweb.

If these guys don't give you help, let me know ,il put some foots in *****
Why don't you help instead of complaining about everyone else not helping?

Maybe the threads get so many views because noobs have the same questions so they read them but can't answer.

We have stated over and over and over..... not to mix/match subs. You need to pull the subs out of the box, and figure out exactly what you have. With the proper info, you may be able to get some help. Let us know the amp, the type of amp, and the ohms of the subs.
