Bandbass Idea

I want to put a bandpass in my single cab truck and i dont want the speakers to be visible at all. So i came up with this idea. Do you guys think this will sound good? Just an idea.

I'm not a fan of 4th order bandpasses, but that'll do the trick if it's what you want.

4th order bandpass? noob question, whats the difference in other "orders" of bandpass boxes? and why dont you like 4th order?

BTW I should have siad I don't particuliarly care for either tye of BP. I have heard some good ones, but far and few between. 4th order just always seems to have to narrow of a band. 6th order can achieve a wider band, but it has sloppier characteristics, so I guess neither is really to my liking. Most that I have heard sre very one note heavy.

By the looks of it, its pretty bad ***!

and about those 2 orders of bandpasses, it gave me an idea... what if instead of a sealed chamber with a ported "acoustic filter" you had a ported enclosure with an acoustic filter? that would be pretty unique in my book. Feel free to give your opinion of why it would/wouldnt work

my stepdad found a bp box kinda like that setting on the side of the road. my stepbrother put his 12's in it and it sounded pretty good. ill try to get you a pic tomorrow if you wanna see it better.

That is a fourth order enclosure

you had a ported enclosure with an acoustic filter? that would be pretty unique in my book.

That is a sixth order enclosure. Nothing terribly unique about it really.

no no no... you misunderstood me.. instead of the rear chamber and the front chamber being ported separately, make the rear cahmber's port feed into the front chamber?

Your talking about is called quasi-sixth order series tuned bandpass. Check it out here, theres a bunch of diffrent bandpasses. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxes6.asp

But here is a 3d Model of the box I designed. Its sliced slightly off centered so you can see it. Dimensions are 42" x 15" x 21"
