bahn amp on IMD sub??

Well, i never tought of pairing the two together but what are some bad results of putting an audiobahn amp on a 15" IMD? I would set the gain to about 650rms and now that i think about it, it doesnt seem like it would be that disapointing. The sub is 600rms and this amp puts out about 750rms. Would i be disapointed pairing these two together rather than spending another chunk of my funds on a different amp just because of thier chrome effect makes it so d*mn powerful . What do you guys think?

As long as the amplifier outputs the power you need into the impedance of your subwoofer, then there's no reason not to do it.

^^ thats what i was thinking, i was hated on before for having this audiobahn amp in a SQ thread, but i mean is there a way to create SQ electricity? I really do not think so and i didnt understand why people were saying audiobahn doesnt make a SQ amp.

Technically, yes.

The amplifier can have variations in it's frequency response, high levels of distortion and/or noise, inadequate damping (which which show itself in the frequency response), inadequate slew rate (again, would show itself in the frequency response), etc. These would all create differences in the "sound quality" of the amplifier

Though, in most decent amplifiers, all of the above will be within inaudible limits. So you would not *hear* any differences between them other than differences in power output. However, it is technically is possible for amps to have differing "sound quality".

Would part of that have to do with the MAAAD chrome and wikked flames that they put on these things now adays?

People might recognize the sub better if you called it an IDQ15. I don't think ppl are familiar with IMD representing Image Dynamics.

To answer your question. Power is Power. I would try it out with the Audiobahn amp first, and if you aren't satisfied then try something else. I woudn't spend more money before i gave it a chance with the IDQ15.
