they are disregarding the alcohol posts because alcohol likes to eat fuel filters. and that sucks *** when you have a fuel filter that is integral in a fuel sender unit.
itll turn a cheap fix into what could be a very expensive one
i simply dont trust putting alcohol into my system.
secondly, there are more problems than just water contamination, such as oxidation of the fuel. gummy shit in your fuel filter or injectors isnt gonna help.
i really dont see a reason to not drop the tank (you might not even have to do that, if your car leaves access to pull the pump or sender unit, depening on the configuration of the particular car, then you can just siphon from there...assuming the siphon you alrady bought doesnt work going through the filler neck) and forget about any worries or doubts there might be.
