Bad crossovers?

I just recently hooked up my JL XR650-CSi component speakers. I tested the woofers off HU power and they worked fine, and I just used a battery to make sure the tweets were alright, and they seemed to be - but I didn't play music through them. I was going to use a Rockford Type RF X1 to power them, it was bad at first, extremely weak output w/ tons of noise on one channel and no output from the other channel. I sent that back and I THOUGHT it was repaired, but I didn't check it thoroughly. So today after about 6 hours of work, I hook it all up and all I can hear is music with a lot of static from one side, and nothing at all from the other side. Is there any possibility that I have a bad crossover? Or is my amp more likely the culprit? I would do more testing, but it's kinda hard to see in the dark. Another thing, seems like the speakers that don't work are hooked up to the channel that had previously not worked.
