Hey crew as you probably know I'm going budget build in New Zealand, and can't pick up anything decent here. Best I can find is cheap and nasty fusions and sonys really.

So.. I have decided I'm defs gonna eBay this **** and have got it down to three options. NOTE; most of the stuff you will recommend (skar, obsidian) I can't get shipped to NZ within budget. So pretty much these are my three options.

2 HIFONICS HFI12D4 12" DUAL 4 OHM 1200 WATTS SUBWOOFERS | eBay

2 MB QUART FWA-304D 1200W 12" DUAL 4 OHM CAR SUBWOOFERS | eBay

2 Digital Audio DA2212T 12" SVC 4 Ohm 2400W Subwoofers | eBay

Will be running in a ported box, and I have the amp power to run any of those three sets at max RMS so don't worry about that. Which of these would go hard and low, but remain pretty clear? Anything on the list that I should stay away from? And the DA2212T's claim to be 600w RMS, is that legit?

Cheers, hopefully once I get your opinions this will be my last thread until I re do the front stage.

Is that LOOK as in "as far as I can tell" or as in actual aesthetics? Because in terms on aesthetics the MB takes it out, but the Hifonics has a surprisingly good rep as a very low budget woofer. The digital audio on the other hand claims to be 600w RMS, but has a pretty small looking magnet. If it can do 600w rms well then that's a bonus, but if it's just a wild claim then I'll look right past it; that may not be the only wild claim in the specs list.

I checked out Sonicelectronix for those Hifonics it would cost me $182.91 for shipping plus $74.95 for the subs so $257.92 all up, compared to the eBay listing of $126.65 for shipping plus $91.91 for the subs so $218.56 all up. Can see how that site would be very cheap in the states though! At that price with free shipping that's cheap as!

But yes I will definitely look at other sites to try and find bargains, but the real point is which subs? And a brief reason why would be great.

Digital Audio is Audiobahn. I tried a bunch of their stuff a number of years ago about 60% of it failed right out the box and I had to have warrantied (this would be a really bad hit for you I think with shipping) and once I got products that actually functioned performance was pretty pathetic. Those are in the "all show no go" category.

Hifonics and Quart are the same company (not sure what the difference is in the different lines). Personally I'd do just about anything else before running either, but people seem to have fairly good luck with Maxxsonics for budget stuff that functions fairly well.

If it were me, I'd look for a Tc Sounds/Lightning 3hp neo motor. You could get one for 150ish and get it shipped for 45$. Buy basket and softparts for around 125shipped and have one actually really nice sub that would sound good and handle some power. You could recone for 75$ or so if you blow it up and it would hold a fair bit of resale value.
