B-quiet?

When it's fresh it melts at 185°F.
Right. So no using asphalt. But er, that does raise another curiosity question. How long is it "fresh"? A day or two? I mean if it's on roads and all, it has to kinda thicken up pretty soon...

As for me I ended up going with B-quiet ultimate. They got a very nice price point at $134 shipped for 50 square feet. The cheapest I found dynamat was $145 shipped for only 35 square feet. And I rode in my buddy's camaro with all dynamat and I can't hear a difference between that and my dad's B-quiet Blazer. We strained to hear at highway speeds but it was pretty darn quiet. But both cars have some kind of the foam mat on top of the butyl (if im not mistaken) so once you get to that point there probly is no noticeable difference in any of 'em.

Asphalt used on roads is a different compound - much harder. Yo want a vibration damper to be flexible. It usually takes at least a year and often 2 or 3 years for the stuff to melt. Under the right conditions it can petrify like paving asphalt and then it won't melt but won't do any vibration damping either.

Any of you guys ever tried B-quiet extreme? It's a lot like dynamat. I think it used to be called Brown Bread (for some strange reason) but they changed their name. Just wanted to know if anyone here had any experience with it, and if it was any good? How does it stack up against other deadeners?

Yes, it did the job quite well. I had a fair bit left over so a couple of others took it and used it in their vehicles. They found it to be very effective too.

Yes, I would use it again if I had the requirement to do so. Yes, I would suggest others try it as well.

Hmm. Im just trying to figure all this out. But I see a lot of people saying the same thing, which is a direct contradiction to the post above yours. Not trying to start a flame war or anything like that, I just noticed that there are a ton of widely varying opinions/experiences.

Pardon me, it was the ultimate stuff I snagged. Reading your other post I see you ended up purchasing it - good for you.
