Ayone used an FI Q 18 in 4 cubes sealed?

I am going to be running a pair of FI Q 18's and I was wondering if anyone has used them in 4 cubic feet sealed? How did it sound? How much power? Thanks!

Already have my amp Soundstream PCX2000D. Yeah 4 cubes each. I have owned many different subwoofers, but never a pair of 18's. It would be neat to hear them first, but it seems no on in Austin, TX has a set or even one.

Not really worried about cheaper, I will use them for SQ as well as the occasional SPL comp. In a sealed enclosure I am hoping they will sound great turned way down and then when cranked will slam!

haha jk, mach 5's are decent subs as well, i'm just more for the FI

Why did you decide on 4 cubes each? FI recommends 4-8 cubes. Is it for power handling ability or just size limitation?

I've been fantasizing about getting a Suburban and throwing a pair of the same FI Q 18's in the back, but going with the full 8 cubes each.

By my calculations just the driver displacement and bracing I/you will lose about 1 cubic foot per driver, so a 4 cube box must actually be about 5 cubic feet each. MY 8 cube box will have to be about 9 cubes each, unless you mount the drives inverted on the outside.

I too would like to hear them first, but not alot of people go for the big sealed SQ drivers that you and I want.

I'm thinking of a AQ2200 or even Sundown 3000 for power.

I just looked it up, I was mistaken, it's .24 cubes displacement each, so with bracing it's .5 cubes each or 1 cube for the pair, not each.

I'd agree that bigger is better with the sealed box.

Also guys, I was not trying to argue that the MJ

was "better", just a less expensive alternative

that may be suited to the amp's power output.

I was wrong anyway cause the MJ's are SVC 4.

Since expense is not the issue between the two

as well, I will withdraw my suggestion.
