AVIC-X930BT Car speed inputs and Reverse gear inputs on a 99 Camry...

Ok so I figured I would get a wireharness and get this install preped...

I am trying to drop in an AVIC-X930BT into my 1999 Toyota Camry (LE)

I already saw that one guy on here was complaining about a similar Pioneer with navigation not functioning correctly and its probably because he did not connect the Car Speed Signal Input and the Reverse Gear Signal Input. The manual suggests that the GPS is worthless without these connections.

I don't think this will be a trivial connection, but I hope I am wrong...

Does anyone have any idea of what to connect these two cables two, since the car was made before onboard navigation was a stock feature?

Or am I boned here...

Btw, I have no clue why a little Tomtom works perfectly using only a satalite signal and Pioneer systems need cables to tell the GPS what the car is doing. Epic fail... lol...

Ha replying to my own thread...

The solution that Pioneer left out my installation manual... they included it in another PREVIOUS model but not the latest nav system... WTF

Pioneer is a bunch of A-holes... lol

The rear set-up is easily doable... but the speed sensor looks difficult, has anyone pulled this off on a 1999 camry? Looks like I could mess some things up...

I am going to start a new thread on how to do this because it is next to impossible to find online or elsewhere... but here is the solution if anyone is trying to do navigation properly on older cars (at least Toyotas) This is the only way to make Pioneer navigation systems work properly... I'll see if I can upload picks after I do the install.

"what i would do is run a wire out to the speed sensor at the ***** because it is actually easier because it has a wire that goes directly to the speedometer and that connector is a black connector with 3 wires under the air intake hose on top of the ***** and the light blue wire is the one your looking for and make sure you either use silicone to seal it good or tape it real good"

I followed the advice in my previous post and the navigation is absolutely great.

However, there are so many wires behind the head unit that it is difficult to mount now...

The sound out of the stock speakers is much better as well, I am astonished.
