Hey i was looking into this unit and was wondering .....I saw on a couple diffrent threads that you can ground a certain wire on certain units and be able to use the video while driving. I was wondering if you can do that with this unit and can you use the nav. while driving?

um, the nav should be running while your driving, so it tells you where to go.

yea i mean can i watch a movie and use it while driving? like switch back and forth

well where im from, its against the law to have video playin up front for the driver to see. somthing like that

You can't do that anyway with the avic-n2

the dvd unit in the N2 is tied into the gyro that is also used for navigation. It knows if your moving and won't play the dvd. You can't bypass it.

I thought you could get a bypass module off ebay? or maybe that was for the alpines...

ok so no on the n2 what about the n1? can u bypass it?

I have n1 and I had mine bypassed. Worked perfectly.

You can bypass both... the N1 is easy to by pass... as it only needs to be grounded instead of connecting up to the parking brake...

The n2 has a gruouourourouruo or w.e its called.. but it can tell if your moving... but you can get around it.. you just have to "know people" or buy the part online and do it your self...

There is a way to bypassed the N2. You just have to use the rearview camera, and tricked the car into goin reverse, but you won't get the full video screen, and the navigation will be unaccurate.
