Avalanche vs. TC9

What is your TC9 designed for? An Avalanche as I understand was designed for home theatre/SQ. I like Avalanches. They can bottom out though.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

It was for an SQ system, but it's pretty much an RL-p to my understanding.

i say keep the avalanche, its more rare
I have th TC9. Trying to decide if I should trade it for an Ava

With that much power, I would go for the TC9, it will really like the power. The Avalanche uses XBL^2 technology, which would be more accommodating of lower power and would probably be more efficient...but with 1200RMS, I would definately go with the TC9.

I've got an Avalanche 12, and in a 1.7@37 hz box, it handles 1100 without overheating, stinking, or bottoming out. They can handle alot more than their rated RMS for music.

The Avalanche 12 is just a toy though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

WEll, the consensus seems to be that the Ava wouldn't be an upgrade. Shipping a 45 pound sub is no fun, so the Ava would have to have a clear advantage for me to go through with it. I'll probably just keep the TC9, since it's new and I know I can fit it (the Ava has a pretty wide motor and I'm working with a fairly small wedge box).

Unless somebody has experience with both and can tell me that it's worth the trouble.

Just the standard TC9?

I've used (and still own) an avalanche, and ran a few subs that used the TC9 motor. I prefered the avalanche hands down, without question. With that said though, they were similar in output, with the avalanche having a "smoother" sound over most of the range it's used.

Ran all subs on a viper 1200.1.
