avalanche 2002 HELP no sound

Bought this cheap 115.00 VRCD500-SDU stereo coz of hte MP3 and WMA ID3 display, bought the thing to plug the existing wires from my truck into the new stereo, everything lights up but NO SOUND.... re-did the wires and same problem. Put back orginal stereo and got sound, so what the .......... Frusted and don't want to go spend more money on install

Blame it on your onstar.....best way to fix it is connect your Blue/White amp turn on wire from your aftermarket deck to the orange wire on the extra plug.....that went into your factory deck
