99 honda civic/in-dash help

i just bought an alpine cva-1005. i installed it in my car and it works great. i bought the pac tr-7 video bypass so it would play movies and it doesn't work. when i put a dvd in it flashes the movie for a second and then goes back to the video off for your safety screen. anybody have any ideas what is wrong?
