avalanche 15 box

anyone running an ava 15 ported, what size box u using? port area? tuning freq? im just wondering so i can get ideas chad said 3-3.5 tuned 25-30hz with around 35 sq inches of port. ive seen other things such as upwards of 50inches of port though. just wanting some info and feedback. btw...running off a hifonics bx1000d

Right now I'm running mine in 2.3 cubes at 32Hz...sounds great, but I will be putting it in a slightly larger box as soon as I get time (3.5 @ 30Hz...cause chad said so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif).

As far as port area, more just allows for a little more output, but it is not completely necessary...I'll be running mine with 54sq inches if you wondered...god, now I need to get on this.

bigpimpin808 your setup will be extremely similar to mine. i built my box 3.0@30hzwith 45sq in of port(might add some extension pieces to tune it to 28-29 since my box is still .1 cube and some change bigger than 3.0) I'll let you know how it sound in reference to a 12" idmax ported if you want. I'm running a tx1005d which is basically the bx1000d but black until i get a optidrive 1400d or 2000d (might get the 2000 for headroom or just in case one of these avalanches is not enough)

actually i don't think i will be able to tell you how it sound on the hifonics. a friend made me a offer i couldn't refuse ($250 for the hifonics and the idmax box) If i end up "borrowing" it from him just to see how it would sound i will let you know. now i got to find a good amp for the ava that woun't cost me more than 250 total.
