I apologize for the length of this post in advance.

Well i finally got my new system installed 1 week ago.

Kicker ZX.750 (900RMS @ 2ohms)

Eclipse SW9122 Titanium.

4-6X8 Pioneer 250max-50Rms sepakers

One week system plaid good, loud - was still trying to EQ it well and was adjusting all EQs on HU a lot and i was playing with Kicker Bass Boost Remote control aka Gain control a lot while listening to different songs. But wasn;t touching gain on the amp- it was set at 75% and bass boost on the amp was set at 0

Today my car would not start. And once the key were in ignition - you know how you hear the sound when the door is open or the seatbelt is not? - well the same sound was there but it sounded like a "dying" sound or chopped and screwed version of it. lol.

So i get somebody to help me with the jumpers car finally starts and i drive straight to AutoZone for free battery check. The guy checks the battery and tells me that my battery is dead. So i tell him fine give me a jump start and i will be on my way to O'Reilly Auto Parts because thats where i got my batter and still under warranty for free replacement. He tries to give me a jumpstart (not with a car but their equipment-sorry don't know how it's called) and now car won't even start.

And he tells me lemme go charge the battery inside so at least you will be able to drive to O'Reilly Auto Parts.

in 45 minutes he comes with my battery and says--"hey man, your battery is like new now, take the full charge. - there's something worng with your car. Let me check your alternator" After he checks my alternator-he says "yup, it's dead. Change it right away because you won't drive far just on a battery"

Give me a quoate of 130 for my alternator and says good luck. I called my mechanic and since it was already past 6pm he says bring it in the morning i'll change it for you.

So on my way home i say why not get my free new battery too so i drive to O'Reilly Auto Parts. Talked to the guy in there, explained what happened and asked him to check my battery and alternator. He checks my battery- and says it is good. Checks my alternator and.....says it's GOOD.

I told him no offense but AutoZone claims different and asked him to check again - he checked again and says it is fine and looks at me surprised and asks me:

"AutoZone told you it's BAD?"

Then he looks at my 4Gauge running to my battery and says that's your problem-your system drained your battery you need Yellow Optima.

Now what do i do?

I was goin to meet my mechanic in the morning at 8 and Autozone opens at 7.30.

So i was thinking i should go to Autozone and get my alternator checked again with a different technician and if they tell me it's bad-then im going to change it.

If they say its Fine like i will have to get Yellow Optima i guess.

What do you guys think?

How is getting a Yellowtop having anything to do with the 4gauge draining?

thats ridiculously stupid.

IF the system was draining i'd check the remote turn on leads.

Well, that's what he said. I'm confused myself.

I don't know much but i honestly didn't think i would need another battery with 700-900 Rms.
