Audison?

alright, since genesis doesn't make a high powered sub amp i'm taking a good look at audison. i got a quick question that i hope will help me make a choice very soon. o.k...... is there a huge sound difference between the lxr and vrx series? i'm not looking for the highest sound quality amp. i listen to mostly metal, every now and then some industrial, and of course... tom waits. just want a clean, colorless, powerful amp. i like to match all my amps... these amps look sweet!!!

lrx 1.2

Audison is proud to introduce the LRx ABD Class models, overcoming the huge challenges associated with car audio: the LRx 1.2k 3200W (RMS) mono amplifier is available for the most demanding of competition grade subwoofer sections. A special feature enables "strapping" of two LRx 1.2k together to achieve a staggering 6kW (RMS) required by the most dedicated SPL competitors.

lrx 2.9

LRx 2.4 and LRx 2.9 are stereo amplifiers also designed to work in mono and trimode configurations. Their power supply section and final stages insure very high output current, with power up to 900 W (RMS). Like in all LRx models, you can use the VCRA volume remote control to adjust subwoofer output level. There are endless possibilities, for every type of installation. Tonal accuracy is the best with clear, detailed high frequency and solid, dynamic bass for ultimate performance.

I used to have an LRx2.4 on my comps (passive). I had it on them for about 4-5 months, then I sold it and went back to my old Alpine and will be using the Alpine until I install my US Amps in the sig. IMO, both amps had a very unique sound, very different from each other. Crossovers/gains/EQ were all set the same. I've never heard the VRx line, except in a demo wall so I can't comment on them. Honestly it was a nice looking and sounding amp, but the quality for the price IMO, wasn't even as good as my China-made Alpine. If you can afford it, which it seems like you can, I would go with the VRx line, or Brax or McIntosh.

decisions decisions.... i kinda had my mind set on this series because of the high powered sub amp in this class

I work for an audison dealer. I have installed both amps into vehicles built for sq and daily listening. The VRX is a cleaner amp, but the LRX is a great amp also. The new models for 08 (the ones pictured) have been redesigned and though I haven't heard them personally, I have spoken with the engineer who designed them and they are definately a step up from the previous LRX line. I hope that helps you out.

thanx guy... think i'm gonna go with lrx's. they look sexy as hell. i wonder if my dls A3 is a better amp than the new lrx's. i know... stupid question. i just love the hell out of that A3. for what i'm trying to do dls wont do... it could but i'd have a trunk load of amps, and those amps eat the hell out of some power. what it really is, is the looks of that new audison.... super sexy!!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
