Figured I'd try this here as there doesn't seem to be much activity in the Amplifiers forum.

Has anyone had any experience with this amp? It keeps going into safety mode. I'm thinking it's overheating because it gets hot enough that you can barley touch it, but a few people have told me thats normal apparently. Could it be anything else?

well sounds like your hammering it hard. if the ohm is to low it will get to hot. but they do get hot. try buying a cooling fan at local radio shack. they have good ones for about 20.00. i use them. 3 inch fan for max cooling. will need a relay to hook it up. because remote wire wont have enough to keep it runnung

Or this.

Are you running it @1 ohm?
Yes I am running it at 1ohm but the amp is 1ohm stable.

I have the amp tuned pretty low, nothing is cranked or anything like that. It normally shuts down around 15 minutes or so into driving it. Should i maybe try running at 2ohm to see what happens. Also I'm looking into getting a cooling fan for it but it's the VRX fans made by Audison.

Anything worth getting is always worth it more at a steep discount. Not familiar with that unit, but the brand is great.

I would pull the amp and bench test it with power and ground wires. If it still doesn't power up, its probably shot. My next step would be to...
