So you didn't scope the amp but knew you set the amp up right? How'd you know you weren't clipping the signal? Did you expect the gain to be the same as the last amp you had or something?

I set the gain by ear and it just couldn't push as hard as the MB. There was distortion and the sub couldn't reach full excursion. There is a definite difference in quality between MB and AP. I'm just trying to steer the OP in the right direction and not recommend a bottom of the barrel amp.
