Audiopipe AWX-1200.1 or Audioque AQ-1200D

As far as I can tell these are pretty much my two options for affordable 1200w amps. I know AQ is a good brand, but I was kinda curious about the audiopipe, anyone have any experience with these amps?

Get the MB Quart, they're good stuff. Also that way you won't have AP bashers all trying to catch your ball sweat whenever you talk about it.

that MB1500 looks like a good deal, since my electrical isn't fully upgraded, its probably never gonna reach 1500 until I do, plus a little extra power so you can keep the gains lower isn't a bad idea.

I got an Audiopipe AP1500 monoblock for $160 shipped few months ago. I have no complaints at all and it puts out 950W at 2ohms. I wouldnt call it dirty power.

I can't speak for the audiopipe amp you are asking about but I had an audiopipe AP15001D and I had no problems with it at all. This dirty power talk is nonsense imo. I have ran plenty of different class d amps and the AP amp sounds as good as any of them . It's not like its an earthquake D2 or something that was notorious for lots of dirty power ( which if setup properly can still sound decent). Not saying the AP is better than anything but if every last dollar counts the AP is a solid option.

If by plenty of clean power you mean less output, fried voicecoils and/or tinsel leads, then yes I agree, it does plenty.

I think I'll play it safe and go with the bigger brand.

You scope the amp yourself? I'd like to see its dirty power you speak of. Did you clamp the amp to see what it was doing as well?

No I don't have the equipment for that. I hooked it up to my TC3K @ 1ohm and it just didn't have as much output. The difference wasn't huge but it was there. Not only that but it would also heat the cone quickly. I'm no amp expert but I do know how to set one up correctly. I would like to see someone scope the amp though and verify what I am saying.

So you didn't scope the amp but knew you set the amp up right? How'd you know you weren't clipping the signal? Did you expect the gain to be the same as the last amp you had or something?
