Amplifier Suggestions.. Need the pro's input.

OK, so I just got an amazing deal on 2 18" Solo x subs and I jumped on it.. They guy said they were dual 2ohm vc's but they aren't. They are the 4's. I know I could just buy a massive *** amp that would run at 1ohm on both of them, but I need to buy things slower since I am running out of money. Also saving up isn't my strong suit lol. I get it I spend it. I am looking for your opinions on what amps out there are going to be best for these @ 2ohms. Not looking to really spend 1k per amp either so, were talking cheap power but big power. Any ideas? Thanks. Also strap-able amps.. any ideas? I know sundown etc, but those things cost an arm and leg.

if they are dual 4 then you can only run them at 1 ohm or 4 ohms to one amp...not 2 ohms

I was meaning 1 amp each at 2 ohms and running them both together at 1 ohm with 2 amps strapped or one big amp

Actually I have quad ought wiring, a 300 amp Iraggi alternator and 4 batteries so far... listen guys, if you aren't going to give me amp idea's please stop posting. I know what I am doing and I am also upping my electrical even more with a dual bracket and another alternator, and four more batteries on top of the 4 I have now. To just out right assume I have no idea what I am doing makes you look pompous. I have been an actual MECP certified installer for quite some time now as well. I am just asking for amp idea's since I don't know every amp that is out there. There are usually some nice amps that we have never heard of floating around for really decent prices. This is what I am looking for in my application. Please stick to the subject title or don't post. I understand and appreciate that fact you are trying to help in other aspects, but to assume I have no idea wtf I am doing simply because I am asking for amplifier idea's is just absurd.

Well my friend's two 12" Solo-X laughed at his "2000 watt" USA-2000X so my guess is you'll need at least 3000 watts RMS per your 18 to get them going. And yeah, eight batteries and two alts will support 8000 watts well. Pics?

Not too many high-power amps does max RMS power @ 2 ohms so going with one BIG amp is the best route - simpler wiring and less space occupied. The Soundstream XXX6500, JBL 6000GTi, SounDigital SD8000.1 will all work well just to name a few.

You obviously get what I am trying to do here. 3k per is exactly what I was expecting to do at a minimum. Space shouldn't be an issue as I plan on walling off my 02 TB right behind the front seats.. maybe doing the port between the seats where my console is, or slot overhead. I literally got these late Friday night, and have yet to come up with a 100% design layout. I don't suspect I will start on this for maybe another month, but pics will come as I get everything at least test fitted into the truck. My original plan if they were 2ohm was 2 Cresendo 3kwp's. I know I could still go that route and I am considering it with them strapped, but... it just doesn't seem as if it would be as fun as running something else that hardly anyone knows about. I want something that when people see what it is they say ... wtf?!?!... what a pos... then I ring their heads with it and they change to saying... WTF!! The reason people ask these questions is because most do not know what they are doing.

Before any of us can give a good, educated opinion, we need to know if you have(not you but you get it)a proper

electrical system to handle what we/us may suggest.

How can I honestly suggest, lets say, a SAZ3500 to someone to only find that they have a 500cca battery and stk alt.??

With that, most of the above amps should suffice.

ap will be the cheapest bet at 600 but to go with one big amp your going to run a grand up for new

Want something that no one else have? Try Phoenix Gold "The One", 12000 watts x 1 into 1 ohm, those Solo-Xs will take it.
