Audiopipe 1500.1 or MB quart 1500.1

i love my aq1200d, no complaints, and i love that it does not even get even slightly warm.

but if i could have saved $20-30 and got 1500x1@1ohm and it would not be clipped power, or anything like that, i would take it if i had to buy again.

everyone says great things about AQ amps.

so why would someone buy say the sundown 1200 over the aq 1200? how can it be worth the price difference?

is it the sundown does more than rated? who has proof?

bacsically one board is a couple hundred watts stronger and uses slightly better parts/thinker heat sinks etc.. im the type of persona i rather spend 500 one time on something that will last 10 years than buy 3 150 dollar amps that will last 2 years a peace..

IE the sundown does 1200@ 12.5 wit the AQ does it @ 14.4.. the caps are higher temp lower tolerance and the heat sinks are better at dissipating the heat.. all in all the AQ and mb stuff is still great gear if you use it as they recommend..

Hmmm... from what papermaker says, ill take the AQ over the sundown every time.

Everyone strives to maintain 14 volts, doing big 3, running 0 guage, etc. so if the amp does 1200@14.4 volts, which is what everyone should have, then u get a true 1200 watts.

My aq does not even get the slightest warm, im not kidding, if u didnt hear the subs playing, u wouldnt know its on. Why would i pay more for the sundown to have the temps lower? if its already ice cold, its not going to die fast. Sure the sundown is cooler, but for what, heat isnt going to kill it if its already not even slightly warm.

now if i was looking for 1300 or whatever watts @1 ohm then the sundown would be an option, but again only if it was right for the money. if the sundown was $300 for 1300-1400 watts @1ohm, but i could get an aq 1500for same price, u can bet i would go aq.

but on to the mb quart, how does it do more power than the aq and sundown @1ohm and its cheaper? at 14.4 volts, clean power, no clipping to hurt speakers/subs, if it does not get any warmer than the aq amps, why wouldnt the mb be the best option then?

getting hot isn't a problem you know the heat sink is doing its job. the AQ is about 70% efficient so you have about 500 watts of heat.. if it doesn't get hot its ethier A not putting out max power or b very well ventilated..
