the epic-150 was off bad but not the 160
i see u got jokes...look at the words above my avatar...lol

all of them were off ...look at the placement..in the lower part of the dash...its not at the kick or on the passenger side windshield...so the numbers could be more than we all think......

all of them? let say you put the tl as the same location, even if it's not in the comp ethic... would the score vary that much? Do you have any concret numbers as an example

1. My non-fading/subwoofer output is full range so that should work without affecting the speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

2. I'm hoping that I can control the power with the subwoofer output on my HU if I get one of these. I'd just rather not have to throw extra money on top of an EPIC-160 if its not necessary

3. So the bass does sound good then? Not just like OMG, RANDOM BASS, BOOM! Sweet.

4. If its semi-accurate that'd be cool. I have no idea whether my music does 120 or 150 dB, I couldn't tell the difference personally without a reference point.

5. I think I'm in the market for one of these now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Seems like you could you the sub output without affecting the other rca output... then do it and put the lpf on the sub amp

The bass sound great and not ramdom boom boom... you need to adjust the setting to what you like. 99% of the songs i tried so far were sounding as good if not better with the epic enable. I love low shit

+ everyone is like "what the fawk is that" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

the meter isnt offocial but its nice to have a meter in your car to experiment, ie you read say 140 on a song, flip your box around or raise tuning 5hz then you read a 142, no it isnt offocial but you know whatever you have done is going to raise your core on the termlab.

the volt meter being off is probably the tiny wires you have in your dash, you are having voltage drop just like too small a wire to your amp. I wouldnt worry about it though, although I dont use any factory wires, I redo all my dash/headunit stuff with 12ga

Did some more test and the voltmeter is indeed only .1 v off. I checked with a dmm at the epic terminal (past the small wire) and it's almost dead on

I can't seems to get my 142 anymore //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif that's just awful //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

A close meter is better than no meter. I'd rather know I'm doing close to 130, 140, whatever, rather than having no idea whatsoever.

it can lead to huge deception //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

seriously, i'm gonna try a 10inch sono instead of my actual 8 inch. I hope i'll get a 1db gain atleast

After a week of fun, i'm still loving the epic-160 as much. It even got me listening to artist that i forgot because of the lack of bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The one Xprime has is the one i sold to him and last time i got TL'ed we compared the epic and tl readings...it was reading 145 on the epic and 146.0 on the TL....So it's about 1db under...It could be due to placement also....

I only have experience with the one i had so i'm not sure if all of them are that accurate...But the one Xprime has is...

I didn't know i would use it that much when i bought it... expectation weren't that high. I'm using it 80-90% of the time so well worth it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I need to get my number higher than 141. That's pathetic

I'm getting a new hu and the subwoofer output can't be left as full range //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif + i don't really have the space for it

so sad... I still love it as much as when i first got it. i could finally listen to something else than south rap beats with the same feeling in my back

anyone tried it with a lpf on it? the higher i can go is 125hz... i don't think that will work

I tired it on a LPF output and the bass would come in sooooo random, and would only work on some songs. I think (although its been a while since I read the manual) that an epicenter looks pretty high in the scale to add its bassline, something like the 1k - 2.5k range (I could be/am wrong though)

I might have slightly different results than most because when I tried it, I had bass boost on and several major problems with my sub stage. I wouldn't advise hooking it up to you SW output though.
