I got 2 audiobahn amps. one for the sub, other for my comps... for the $80 i spent on the Alum12X sub, i have yet to hear a better sub for the price. It has awesome sound quality and can bang pretty hard. No way in hell though would i pay the retail on the sub, or any of the 2 audiobahn amps i have. If you can find the good lines cheap, they can be good components for your system.

how much areyou about to spend on these? why the hell are you going for these? i know they are decent SPL subs from a company who makes mainly crap (cuz they were designed by digital designs- I THINK thats what i read)
why not get some real digital designs subs, or some adire subs, maybe RE?

or some SI magnums?

My buddy just picked up 2 digital designs 3515c 2 ohn dvc on ebay because a car audio shop couldnt sell them. He won the 2 seprate auctions (one for each sub) at $30 for one, and $17 for the other. We drove 30 minutes to get them, and have a over a 10 cubic foot vented box built for both of them in a mazda mx3 hatchback with 2 audiobahn A2300HCT amps (one per sub) and its loud. Audiobahn may be cheap, but your getting alot of wattage for a $500 amp bough of ebay. Right now we got to increase the vehicles power system and get a few batterys and a stronger alt then we are going to get it tested. Im sure we are going to be hitting around 160 db if not higher with under 2000 grand in a system.

I havent heard a bad thing about dd yet, and there is a guy holding the world record I believe with one 18" DD running 4 audiobahn amps to it and pushing over 12,000 watts.

Talk trash about audiobahn all you want, but I think it ownz.

Ok, I've been seeing lots of people arguing on both sides of Audiobahn. Some say its shitty. Some say its good quality.

I'm building a pretty big audio system for my 300Zx. I'm thinking of buying

- 1 10" sub, 1000watts RMS (Dual 1 Ohm) Peak Power 2000 RMS (about $200)

- 1(to power the sub) 1200watts RMS (4 Ohm Mono) (about $400)

- I want to try and get about 100-200watts RMS at 4ohms from each speaker in the interior. Any recommendations on good speakers? I'm buying 4 of them and wiring them to a sperate amp.

Money is no real object to me really because I an freshman engineer and this is from an internship //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

I have about 1500$ to put into an audio system and am just trying to build something powerful, but mainly, one that has very crisp and clear quality even at high levels.

And with a sub as powerful as I have, do I have to seal the trunk? Or will a sealed and ported enclosure work just as well?

Lastly, when wiring systems, is it better for the amplifier to be stronger than the peak power of the speakers? I realize that this way you can destroy your speakers if you crank it too loud, but won't my speakers burn out my fuse in my amp if i crank it loud and the amplifier can't provide the juice to them?
